Candidates Privacy Policy

View our privacy policy for Clients.

Your trust is important to us, so we take all care to protect your privacy and confidentiality. Our policy and practice comply with the requirements of the National Privacy Principles.

Collection

We collect personal information such as name, address and contact details from your resume, or occasionally by word of mouth from other candidates and contractors.

From your resume, from your referees, and from personal interviews, we may also collect more sensitive information about your work-history, your professional experience and interests, and your preferred work-environment. We prefer always to have your written permission before we collect and use this information. Although we operate a strict equal-opportunity policy, we may need to ask about your visa status and ethnic or religious background for some overseas placements.

We collect this information only for the purpose of providing you the best possible placements to suit your own career needs.

Use and disclosure

We use the information we collect from you to find you appropriate assignments in the information-technology, finance and related industries.

Paul Ingle & Associates' consultants work as a single team, so your information may necessarily be shared within our organisation. To give you the widest possible choice of placements worldwide, we may also share some of that information with other recruitment agencies. For overseas agencies, we check that they have adequate privacy protection before sending any data.

Unless you request otherwise personal information is shielded from prospective clients until a bone fide interest from both parties has been established. Even then sensitive personal information that we have on record will be omitted from any communication with the client.

Data quality and security

We review, update and cull all personal records on a daily basis. Electronic data are stored on a secure server with appropriate access control. Paper records are maintained in a secure area, and are destroyed by secure shredding.

Most of the information we hold on your behalf is provided by you in person, and we rely on your help to keep that information as accurate and up to date as possible. We will contact you from time to time to ask for updates on your skill-sets, experience and availability-status; alternatively, you can send us an updated resume at any time by mail, email.

Please ask us if you wish to review any records we may hold for you, in accordance with the National Privacy Principles.

Anonymity

By the nature of our business, we need to know who you are in order to work with you. However, we do take care to ensure that sensitive personal information is not passed on to prospective clients, unless you request otherwise.

Identifiers and sensitive information

For your own privacy, we ask you to minimise sensitive information within your resumes, especially that which is not directly work-related. We will ask you for such information only where it is absolutely required for a prospective placement.

In general we do not need government-defined identifiers such as your Tax File Number.

Privacy of referees

Your referees are important as a support for you, so please help us to respect their privacy too. We rely on you to ensure that we have permission to contact them before we call on your behalf.

Privacy of other candidates

From time to time we may ask you for advice on availability of candidates for other roles. If we do, please provide us with contact details only of those who would welcome us to call - or better still, ask them to call us.

Our aim is always to give you the best possible service: help us to protect your privacy.
